KART Students Paint Ken Done's Portrait
On 25th October, KART accompanied students from Tallowood primary school to Ken Done's studio in Sydney.
The students - Tahlia Dougherty, Torin West, Crystal Mantle and Ashlan Farrelly - have begun painting Ken's portrait, and will be entering it into the Archibald Prize competition early next year. Ken invited the students to his studio so that they could make some sketches and get to know a little more about him and his wonderful art work.
The children range in age from 7 to 11, and using the knowledge that they had from doing the KART program this year were able to observe not only the shapes and colours of Ken, but also get some great ideas for the background of the painting.
The media were also there to capture the moment - check out the articles below to see the coverage the budding artist's received!
